PUBIFY

Pubify ("we", "us", or "our") is London's critic ledger for pubs, ales, and gin bars. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Pubify:

• Account information: When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your email address and name from those providers. When you use Magic Link, we store your email address.
• Reviews and ratings: The pub reviews, scores (The Pour, The Ambiance, The Powder Room), and crowd tags you submit.
• Photos: Photos you upload as part of pub reviews or your profile picture.
• Check-ins: When you check in to a pub, we record the pub, timestamp, and a unique identifier tied to your account.
• Location: We use your device location to show distances to nearby pubs. We do not store your location.
• Device identifier: A random identifier stored on your device to prevent duplicate reviews from unauthenticated users.

How We Use Your Information

• To display pub reviews, scores, and crowd data to other users.
• To calculate the consensus score for each pub.
• To show your check-in history and review count on your profile.
• To prevent duplicate reviews within a 24-hour period.
• To send you notifications when a pub you follow receives a new review (if you opt in).

Location Data

Pubify requests access to your device location to calculate distances between you and nearby pubs. Location data is used only in real time to sort and display pubs by proximity. We do not store, transmit, or share your location data with any third party.

Photos and Camera

Pubify requests access to your photo library and camera solely to allow you to upload photos for pub reviews and your profile. Photos you upload are stored securely and displayed publicly within the app. We do not use your photos for any other purpose.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We share data only with:

• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider, used to store and serve app data.
• Google: For maps, place photos, and OAuth sign-in.
• GitHub: For OAuth sign-in if you choose that option.

Data Retention

We retain your account data and reviews for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account data and associated check-ins. Reviews you submitted may remain in aggregate scoring data in anonymised form.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated personal data at any time from the Profile screen within the app.
• Object to processing of your data.

Children

Pubify is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Cookies and Tracking

Pubify does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. We use only the essential session cookies required for authentication.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Pubify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
